Thought I was buying a book not a short story. Love AMcCSmiths writing, but felt let down & ripped off. Disappointed. Dk
Typical McCall Smith wry humour. He has introduced a few Norsic characters in this short one. We can look forward to some Nordic delight from him in future.
Although a short story, the formula seemed tired as the outcome was not surprising.
Good for a quick comfort read in bed.
It was so short! I settled down to read it and it was over before I knew it. Sweet story, though.
A little different to some of his other books but enjoyable
I love Alexander McCall-Smith, which is why I bought this book. I knew it was a short story, but did not expect it to be this short. The ending was a bit too pat as well. Not at all up to his usual standard.
But it is very, very short. We need more. Love all of AMS's book. Will definitely read more about Ulf Varg.
