From understanding why executives want to meet with you, to creating a plan for engagement and follow-up, this book is a highly practical and timely guide for any sales team or individual seller whose success depends upon executive access and support.
I just read Lisa's book on a 2 hour round trip from Phoenix to San Diego. This goes way beyond VITO and others on C-level calling. I like books that can give you tons of new ideas and good advice in a short read. Frankly, this is a book you should have as a reference and read as C-Level calling situations arise. Full of solid checklists, tools and Lisa's field-tested best practices as a saleswoman and sales manager on the front lines are very credible. Particularly liked the interviews with C-Level people and their answers to Lisa's interview questions. while some of the content may seem like a review of good selling principles (and those are always worth refreshing) she goes in depth on many things that help you plan and execute quality "value creation" calls when calling high. Sales pros, sales managers, and sales trainers should add Lisa's book to their library.

There are two things that make this book a must read. First, it is actionable. Lisa Magnuson doesn't waste your time on theory. She gives you strategies and tools to use immediately. Secondly, she is one of those authors that realizes that one point of view is good, multiple are better. She enlists several other experts in the field of selling to comment and seems to include their input unedited. I like an author who knows her stuff and still puts her ego aside to think about what will be best for the reader. I read more business books than I'd like to admit to and I find many to be repetitive, too theoretical and what I call 'flip-throughs'. This is a book you'll come back to for refreshers and tips. I give it a thumbs up.
